Tentative Redistricting Agreement Reached

A tentative agreement has reached between Senate Democrats and Republicans over revised boundaries for the Senate’s 40 districts statewide. Gov. Bob McDonnell vetoed the previous Senate plan, saying it divided too many communities and voting precincts. The plan worked out is likely to get a more favorable reaction from the GOP and then move on to a possible signature.  That measure would have also put Smith and Newman in the same district.
