Liberty Law Schools pass rate of 100% is great but I’ve heard that 5 or 6 people took the exam and they were all re-takes. Sometimes it takes a few tries to pass the bar. I think this is true for all schools and February is usually the re-take month.
First the turtles and now the bears….
Spinning the turtles and running them over was pretty shallow – they’re probably older than you are. Taking a 12 gauge to a black bear – please!
Not even as dangerous (to a sane person) as a loose dog. And
just how bloodthirsty does Brian get? I do feel sorry for anyone so
ignorant………
Well, I see you’re starting the week right in your own twisted little way.
Way to go, smackdown an old lady who was just stating her opinion.
I guess this talk show is just a personal soapbox and therefore reflects
the attitude of the host. Mari, get out before he drags you down too. At
least speak up!
Glad to hear that you’re enjoying the show.
Mary,
I want to chide you for giving your hurricane interview guy a softball pitch on “Global Warming.” Trust me, I used to live in Florida and in 2004 went through 2 category 3 hurricanes and one category 4 all in the same year, and then in 2005 we had two more cat 3 hurricanes — these storms are now getting LESS frequent, not more (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Florida_hurricanes#2000.E2.80.93present), because we are entering a period of GLOBAL COOLING. What he stumbled around to say in response is true to a point: the ocean waters are warmer than they were 15 years ago, but that’s because the bodies of water are always the last to cool. That’s why in Chicago, where I also used to live, next to the lake it’s always 10º warmer next to the lake in October and November than it is in the outlying suburbs — the lake keeps it warmer; however, it’s also always 10º cooler in the spring next to the lake because it takes longer for the large body of water to warm up. Texas is having a drought because of La Nina — the waters of the Gulf are cooler than in some years and there’s less warm moist air to cause rain.
Don’t get caught up in the media hype that Global Warming is causing the sky to fall — it’s just not true.
Hello- I was actually looking to find some information on one of your advertisers. I was hoping you could help me.
He was an accountant. He had worked for the IRS for 7 years. I would like to get his phone number. I know is not a lot of information, but I would appreciate anyway you could help me.
Thanks!
I think you mean Ward Dean, Jr. His number is (434) 385-5999.
Brian and Mary,
I heard your story about the transsexual teenager and her girls’ bathroom woes.
As a transsexual woman, I feel that you are not well informed on this topic. It is very real to many men and women, and takes courage to “come out” to ones parents and friends, often with the loss of these people in ones life.
From the age of four I knew I was a girl. I could go on to tell you my story and why I got married as a man, had children, developed a career as a man (in a VERY masculine business) and why at age 55 I am just beginning my transformation, but it is too complex. What you should know is that when someone is transsexual (often incorrectly called “transgender”), they “present” in the sex they feel inside, not outside. If that person, in this case a teenager, presents as a girl, it is humiliating to her to use the boys’ bathroom, locker room, and hang out with the guys.
Think for a moment how you would feel if you woke up tomorrow and were forced to dress as the wrong sex, interact with coworkers and friends as the wrong sex, and use the “wrong” bathroom. And how you would feel if you had to tell your parents, your friends, teachers, coworkers, doctors, etc. that you would no longer be the sex you used to be. It is the most difficult thing one can imagine.
I would be happy to talk freely about this topic on or off the air so that you and your listeners could really have a deeper and more meaningful idea of the very real issue that affects thousands of men and women all over the world, and yes, including many, many in Lynchburg. Some who can do something about it , some who feel stuck, and, unfortunately some who commit suicide over it.
Thanks for listening, and I love the show.
Michele
