Centra Fraud Case Goes to Grand Jury

A grand jury will consider the case against a former Lynchburg General Hospital nurse accused of stealing more than $46,000 from Centra Health . During a probable cause hearing on Thursday, a Lynchburg General District Court Judge found there was enough evidence to support the charge against 38-year-old Tracey Heisler, of Evington. Heisler is accused of fraudulently billing the company for 689 hours over a six-month period. Centra Human Resources Director Lauralyn Martin testified Thursday, that the problem was discovered when a payroll report showed Heisler was paid more money in overtime than any other employee. The next city grand jury is expected to meet on June 6.
