E.C Glass Student Wins Congressional Art Competition

A local student’s artwork is being displayed in the nation’s Capital. Congressman Bob Goodlatte announced that Jack McGuinn of Lynchburg was selected as a winning entry in the District wide, Congressional Art Competition. McGuinn just completed his sophomore year at E.C Glass High School. His oil-on-canvas work, titled “Still Life,” was selected by the congressman to represent the state’s sixth district, it will join about 400 other congressional district winners nationwide hanging on the wall in the Cannon Tunnel, which connects the U.S. Capitol to the Cannon House Office Building. The art contest began in 1982 and is open to all high school students.
