Redistricting Maps Approved

The U.S.Justice Department has approved Virginia's new legislativemaps.  Virginia is among 16 states that are required to submit their redistricting plans to the Justice Departmentunder the 1965 Voting Rights Act.  The measure is meant to ensure The state's district bounders do not dilute the power of black voters.
