Giles County School Lockdown…No Gunman Found

A report of a man with a gun sent two Franklin County schools into lockdown mode on Tuesday morning. Someone called authorities around 9 a.m. to report an armed man on North Main Street in Rocky Mount. Nearby Benjamin Franklin Middle School was locked down as police searched for a suspect. They never found the gunman and no children were hurt. The schools returned to normal within an hour.
