Attorney General Confirms Plan To Run For Governor

UPDATE:
In a letter to his staff yesterday, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s confirmed his plans to run for governor in 2013. Gov. Bob McDonnell says he will stand by his promise to support Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling to be his successor. While other Republicans with ambitions for statewide office begin positioning for the gubernatorial race that is still 18 months away.

Virginia attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli will run for governor in 2013. Cuccinelli’s candidacy creates a clash with Republican Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling for the party’s nomination in two years. Cuccinelli was among the first state attorneys general to file federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of President Barack Obama’s health care reform law in 2010.
