Governor Request More Funding for Public Colleges

Gov. Bob McDonnell is asking lawmakers to boost funding for state-supported higher education by a little more than $220 million by 2014. McDonnell will ask the General Assembly to add about $100 million each of the next two years for public colleges. There is an emphasis on use of the cash for science, technology, math and related curricula.
