ACLU Monitors GPS Issue

The ACLU has the Virginia General Assembly in its cross hairs following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on GPS devices. The high court ruled that law enforcement agencies must obtain a warrant before using GPS devices to track the cars of U.S. citizens. The ACLU says the decision essentially renders a bill under consideration in Virginia as unconstitutional. The measure prevents private parties from placing GPS devices on others’ vehicles, but explicitly empowers the police to use them without a warrant.
