Public Speaks Out On Behalf of Higher Taxes

90-percent of people who turned out last night for the third public meeting on Lynchburg’s proposed budget said the city should consider higher taxes to keep services. The budget proposal calls for a 10-cent increase in the real estate tax rate and a 1-cent increase in the meals tax. The city will hold a final community meeting on the budget next week at Bedford Hills Elementary and follow up with a formal public hearing April 3rd
