Fallen Virginian Soldier Laid To Rest

A fallen soldier from Lexington has been laid to rest next to his grandfather at Buena Vista’s Greenhill Cemetery. U.S. Army First Lieutenant Chase Prasnicki was laid to rest on Tuesday, following a funeral service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Lt. Prasnicki precedes both his parents in death as well as a brother and sister. He was just 24-years-old.7/10/12
Governor McDonnell has ordered that U.S. and Commonwealth of Virginia flags be flown at half-staff over the state Capitol building today in respect of Army First Lieutenant Stephen Prasnicki. Prasnicki was killed in combat in Afghanistan last month. The 24-year-old was born in Lexington and grew up in Rockbridge County. Prasnicki graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2010.
