Bond has been denied for a Lynchburg man who is accused of murdering a Campbell County man last month. Vincent Spinner is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 89 year old James Payne, who was found dead in his home Aug. 3. Spinner was married to the victim’s daughter, but the two were separated at the time of Payne’s death. Before denying the bail on Tuesday, the Judge heard evidence regarding Spinner’s criminal background, which includes history of armed robbery and firearms convictions as well as assault and battery charges. Spinner’s preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 12.
