Lights, Camera, Lynchburg – Take Two!

Bright lights … the red carpet … dazzling gowns … the first “Lights, Camera, Lynchburg!” contest
had all the trappings of a Hollywood premiere. Now, it’s time again for Lynchburg residents of all
ages to let us know what they love most about the Hill City—through video!
Last year, the Lynchburg Marketing Partnership handed out more than $4,000 in cash prizes to
some very talented moviemakers—young and old, amateur and professional—who took to the
streets with video cameras in hand, documenting what they felt was special about the Hill City.
From space aliens to skateboarders, rappers to recyclers, the video contest entries had something for
everyone!
This year’s Lights, Camera, Lynchburg! video contest is now under way and the deadline for all
entries is November 16, 2012. Categories include:
 Amateur, ages 18 and below
 Amateur, ages 19 and above
 Top of the Class (for school groups, community center groups and non-profit groups
ages 18 and below)
 Professional, ages 19 and above
 Viewers’ Choice
A panel of judges will determine the winners of the Amateur, Professional and Top of the Class
categories, while Viewers’ Choice will be determined by an on-line public poll. All videos must be
between one and three minutes in length and illustrate the theme of “What I love most about
Lynchburg”. For complete rules and entry form, visit www.lynchburgva.gov/videocontest.
Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on Friday, December 7.
So get out those camcorders and become the next star of the Lynchburg entertainment scene!
