The State Fair of Virginia is kicking off its 10-day run today with new owners and attractions. The Farm Bureau Federation and Universal Fairs say racing pigs will be part of the attractions, as well as Alaskan grizzly bears and Bengal tigers. The Farm Bureau has touted the fair’s return to its agricultural roots, with an emphasis on livestock exhibits and competitions. It runs through Oct. 7 at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County.
