New Research Lab Will Develope Aerial Technology

Researchers at Virginia Tech are developing advanced technology for unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles. A new laboratory will be home to research on everything from the spread of airborne plant pathogens using unmanned aerial vehicles to the creation of more high-tech submarines. Officials say in addition to military uses, unmanned vehicles could also be used for land management, search and rescue, border security, disaster support, and crop biosecurity.
