Bedford County Horse Farm Receives Recognition As Sanctuary

A local farm has received recognition as sanctuary for horses. The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, last month awarded accreditation status and contributed a $4,500 grant toward needed improvements at Brook Hill Farm, a nonprofit Bedford County facility. Nearly 400 horses have received care during the past 11 years. The status gives recognition as an exceptional equine rescue facility. More than 500 volunteers worked there last year.
