County Welcomes Chicken Little And Alike

Bedford County officials have approved an ordinance change allowing homeowners to keep chickens. They’re currently allowed in agricultural but not residential areas. The guidelines call for homeowners to have no more than 18 chickens, no roosters, and keep chickens caged or penned on at least a quarter-acre. The proposed ordinance now goes before Bedford County supervisors.
