Energy-Efficient Sales-Tax Holiday Lasts Through Monday

The sixth annual state sales-tax holiday on energy-efficient products is underway. Through Monday, Virginia consumers will save money on purchase of qualifying items such as heat pumps, dishwashers, washing machines, and other products that cost $2,500 or less and are certified as being energy efficient with the Energy Star and WaterSense designations. A complete list of tax-exempt items can be found at www.tax.virginia.gov–This is Virginia’s third tax-free holiday of the year. Hurricane-preparedness items get a tax-free weekend in May and back-to-school items get a similar weekend in August.
