Even More Of A Labor Pain For Pregnant Prisoners

Virginia Board of Corrections officials say they’re maintaining a policy of restricting ankle and wrist restraints on pregnant prisoners during labor. They can only use shackles if the security risk is deemed “serious.” Some sheriff’s department and medical personnel say they’re concerned over security risks by not restraining patients.
