Former Deputy Gets Four Months In Drunk Driving Incident

A former Bedford County Sheriff’s deputy convicted of driving drunk and trying to elude police in his unmarked patrol car will serve four months in jail. 31-year-old Joshua Hubbard will also lose his driver’s license for 18 months. Authorities say Hubbard drove for about 11-miles in the wrong direction on Route 29 between Lynchburg and Altavista on March 27 of 2011, and only stopped after police struck his car on the rear passenger side.
