A Lynchburg man has been charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer. 41-year-old James Ernest Peebles Junior was pulled over around 9:45 Friday night for suspected drunk driving. Trooper N.E. Hollandsworth tried to arrest Peebles, he resisted and a scuffle broke out. Hollandsworth was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was released several hours later.
