Passenger Train Plans Stop In Appomattox Next Month

The “Virginia Autumn Express.” Train is expected to bring nearly 1,000 passengers for an afternoon next month to visit in Appomattox. Passenger trains haven’t made stops at the old station in downtown Appomattox for more than 20 years. The N.C. Transportation Museum has offered similar autumn excursions in previous years, but this is the first time Appomattox will be a destination. The train is expected to arrive in Appomattox by noon on Nov. 3.
