Preschool Bookkeeper Pleads Guilty To Embezzlement

The former bookkeeper for First Presbyterian Church Preschool pleaded guilty to embezzlement yesterday. Prosecutors say Allyson Lowrey stole more than 11-thousand dollars by writing herself extra paychecks and keeping cash deposits made by parents. She worked at the school from July 2009 and this past March. The judge suspended a two-year prison sentence and ordered that Lowrey pay back the money plus 6-thousand for the school to get its books back in order.
