Three Pittsylvania County Supervisors announced this week that they’re taking up a resolution of their own in the uranium mining debate. Each drafted a resolution opposing uranium mining and plan to present them to officials statewide. Safety, health and the welfare of the citizens propelled their decision to move forward; the supervisors say they fear time is running out and didn’t want to take a chance on this issue slipping through the cracks. On October 1, the board tabled the issue and deciding against a vote on a proposed anti-uranium resolution.
