The Department of Defense says a soldier from Clarksville, Virginia has died in battle in Afghanistan. Officials say 30-year-old Sgt. Robert J. Billings died Saturday of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Billings was based at Lewis-McChord in Washington.
