A former financial specialist at Wachovia Bank, who falsified documents to support a broader mortgage fraud scheme, was sentenced this morning, to one day in prison and three months of home confinement. 44 year old, Mary Novak Thompson, of Forest, previously waived her right to be indicted and pleaded guilty to a one-count charging her with making a false statement for the purpose of influencing the action of National City Mortgage. In addition, Thompson was barred from working in banking for 10 years.
