Bedford County Board of Supervisors have agreed to merge the county’s water and sewer services with Bedford’s system on one condition: the supervisors want a newer dump truck. The county and city are looking to merge the services as part of Bedford’s expected reversion from city to town status in 2013. But supervisors want a 2009 dump truck instead of a 1999 model. They say the newer truck would make more sense for the rural parts of the county rather than within the future town’s borders.
