The Bedford Fire Department plans to purchase a new rescue truck and asked the Bedford County Board of Supervisors this week to consider providing $250,000 toward the cost. The tanker is 21 years old and due for replacement soon. Supervisors will review the request when considering funding for the county’s capital improvement plan during budget talks early next year.
