Bells Are Ringing But There Are Too Many Empty Red Kettles

The Lynchburg Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser of the year is running behind in donations. The Annual Red Kettle Campaign is expected to be about $30,000 short of last year’s pace by Black Friday. The local chapter estimates it will serve about 500 families in the coming year, representing about 2,500 individuals– but tallies from the fund raiser so far have been running behind compared to the same time last year. Bell ringers will continue through Christmas Eve–manning sites at more than 20 shopping locations. Donate online visit www.salvationarmylynchburg.org
