City School Capital Improvement Plan Has High Hopes and High Price Tag

The Lynchburg School Superintendent has proposed additions of eight elementary school gymnasiums over the next five years as part of a capital improvement. The potential expense, accompanies other big-ticket items in the plan. Sandusky Elementary School is up for major renovation in 2015, followed by Linkhorne Elementary School in 2016 and Paul Munro in 2017. According to the News & Advance, in total the suggested projects and revisions could cost about $145 million over the next 10 years. The plan will be presented to the school board on November 27th. Once the school board approves some version of the capital improvement plan for the schools, it will then go to City Council.
