UPDATE:
Two Staunton River High School students were killed yesterday morning in a collision in Bedford County. Police say 17-year-old Jacob Baird and 16-year-old Katie Thurston died in the wreck, while 18-year-old Gradon Graybill and 19-year-old Shawn Hall survived. Police say the teens were in a car that tried to turn left off of Masons Lane onto Route 24 and pulled in front of an SUV. That vehicle’s driver was not seriously injured and won’t face charges.
11/14/12:Two people are dead following an accident on Route 24 in Bedford County, according to Virginia State Police spokesperson Robert Carpentieri. Route 24 in the Goodview area is still closed in both directions. Traffic on Route 24 West is being detoured onto Route 616. Route 24 East traffic is being detoured onto Route 653.
