Driver Charged In Wreck That Killed One Man And Injured Trooper

A Florida man faces charges in connection with a wreck on the Route 29 Bypass in Amherst County that killed a man and injured a state trooper. 22-year-old Matthew Gardner is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving. Prosecutors say Gardner swerved to avoid a state police car and hit Alfred Perutelli II and Trooper Daniel T. Wilson – as Wilson helped Perutelli clean up some furniture that had spilled from his pickup.
