Former Supervisors Faces More Charges

Former Bedford County Supervisor Tony Ware faces more embezzlement and money laundering charges. Prosecutors tell the News and Advance that Ware is already charged with taking tens of thousands of dollars from the estate of Hattie Routon after she died. They say the new charges involve money taken while Routon was alive. Ware served on the Bedford County Board of Supervisors for 25 years. He’s set for a jury trial in Bedford on Jan. 25.
