Governor Makes His Intentions Known Regarding Healthcare Reform & Medicaid

Governor Bob McDonnell believes with President Obama’s re-election, federal healthcare reform will not be able to be stopped. The governor though is still unwilling to stretch the state’s Medicaid program. He is also not willing to establish a state-based health insurance exchange without knowing more about the price tag. McDonnell is facing a November 16th deadline to decide what kind of exchange to have in Virginia. The governor said he would lean toward a federal exchange, knowing the state could not change its mind later.
