The man convicted of killing an Amherst County resident and two inmates is scheduled to be executed next month. 42 year old, Robert Gleason Jr., was serving a life term at Wallens Ridge State Prison for the 2008 murder of Michael Kent Jamerson of Madison Heights, when he killed his cellmate in May 2009. After being transferred to the supermax Red Onion State Prison, Gleason strangled another inmate in an outdoor recreation cage in July 2010. Gleason waived all state and federal appeals and a judge on Tuesday set the execution date for Jan. 16. Gleason told AP he would choose to die by electrocution instead of lethal injection.
