Police in Central American are looking for a man with local ties to question him about the slaying of another U.S. citizen, in the island town of Belize. 67 year old John McAfee, the founder of the software company McAfee Inc. was raised in Salem and attended Northside High School and graduated from Roanoke College. McAfee sold his stake in the anti-virus software company in the early 1990s and moved to Belize about three years ago. There, he lived next door to 52 year old Gregory Faull, who was found with a gunshot wound to his head inside his two-story home north of San Pedro. The Ministry of National Security describes McAfee as only as a “person of interest” for police.
