Man Is Sentenced For Shooting Brother & Nephew

A Bedford County man who shot his brother and nephew will serve 22 years in prison. Dennis Caldwell was sentenced yesterday, after pleading no contest in August to shooting his brother Glen Caldwell, and Glen’s son Michael Caldwell off Route 460 just west of Bedford. After the shootings, prosecutors say Dennis Caldwell set his house on fire and had a more than four-hour standoff with law enforcement. Prosecutors say the brothers were neighbors and were in a long-running dispute over their property.
