Possible Canadian Kidnapping Case Has Police Investigating In Virginia

Police are investigating a possible missing child kidnapping case. Authorities say workers at the Quality Inn in Hillsville found a handwritten note claiming to be from a child, who said they were “missing, and the cops are looking for me.” The note claimed to be from Jasmine Hines, but officers say a search of missing person databanks nationally, statewide, and locally have turned up no child missing by that name anywhere in the U.S. Investigators say they’ve talked with INTERPOL and the FBI as well as the Canadian Police. Pierre Morand, of Quebec checked into the hotel on Wednesday and rented a room for one person. Surveillance video showed Morand had a young girl with him.
