| The Region 2000 Local Government Council (LGC) and its member localities – Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell, and Bedford counties, the towns of Altavista, Amherst, and Appomattox, and Lynchburg and Bedford cities want your input on transportation needs in our region. Four convenient meetings are scheduled the week of November 26th, and everyone that participates in a survey will be entered for a drawing for one of five $20 gift certificates to Amazon.com.Two on-line transportation surveys have been developed to assess current conditions and identify needs from the perspectives of our local motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The surveys are available on the LGC website at http://www.region2000.org/transportation-needs-surveys-page1.html or by using the smaller URL – http://tinyurl.com/c5hduck .
Both surveys allow local residents to provide detailed information on specific transportation needs within the areas of Region 2000 that they live, work, go to school, or travel most often. The results of the surveys will assist the LGC, the Central Virginia Metropolitan Planning Organization (CVMPO), and localities in prioritizing needs and developing strategies to ensure a safe, efficient, and balanced transportation system.
