Uranium Issue Is Still As Uncertain As Before The Election

The Virginia county that’s home to one of the world’s largest uranium deposits has adopted a resolution concerning a proposed mining operation. Pittsylvania County’s resolution doesn’t make any recommendation on whether the state’s 30-year-old ban on uranium mining should be lifted or retained. Meanwhile, John Douglass lost to Robert Hurt yesterday in the race for the 5th Congressional District seat. The retired Brigadier General had hoped to sway voters with his strong stance against uranium mining.
