The Town of Appomattox is considering implementing a utilities service line warranty program. According to the Times-Virginian, the program provided through the Utility Service Partners is an opportunity to reduce a burden on citizens who may have a broken water or sewer line. The program will not be an expense for the town, though water and sewer customers who sign up for the program would pay between $4 to $5 a month for a warranty. For those entered in the program, the town will receive 10 percent of the revenue. If approved by Council, all homeowners will have the opportunity to enroll in the program.
