Bedford Mayor Steps Down Six Months Before Town’s Reversion

Bedford Mayor Skip Tharp plans to step down ahead of the city’s expected reversion to a town. Tharp, who’s been mayor since 2007, plans to step down in January but remain on City Council. He says he believes it’s time to let someone else take the lead for the next six months. Bedford’s reversion is expected to be completed in the summer of 2013.
