Explosion Injures Firefighter

An Amherst County firefighter was slightly injured last night when a propane tank exploded at the Ambriar Shopping Center. Crews were there battling a fire in the back of the center when two tanks exploded within minutes of each other. A total of six businesses were damaged, with the bulk of the damage occurring to the dialysis center. The explosions left Sweet Briar College without power briefly. Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation. iun
