Governor Establishes School Safety Task Force

In reaction to Friday’s shootings at a Connecticut elementary school, Governor McDonnell is establishing a task force to review all aspects of school safety. The group will study policies and procedures, crisis and emergency plans, threat-assessment protocols and “best practices.” The review will cover all schools from elementary level through colleges and universities. In addition, the Secretary of Education and Secretary of Public Safety have been asked to review recently-submitted school safety audits.
