UPDATE:
Governor Bob McDonnell is proposing several amendments to his state budget. Before the General Assembly’s Joint Money Committee yesterday, McDonnell requested tweaks in the two-year, 85-billion dollar plan. Among them are salary increases for teachers, more money for transportation and adding a sizeable amount of cash to the state’s rainy day fund.
12/17/12: Gov. Bob McDonnell presents his proposed amendments to the state’s $80-billion two-year budget in Richmond Monday morning. The governor is expected to include funding for initiatives already announced, including $58 million for teacher pay raises tied to tighter job performance standards.
