Joint Landfill Authority Is Saving The County Thousands

Campbell County has saved over 3 million in landfill costs since joining the Region 2000 Service Authority in July of 2008. The County Administrator reported to the board last week that the savings amount was close to what the county had expected to save by participating in the joint solid waste management facility. As a region, more than $8.3 million was saved by having the Region 2000 Services Authority; other members reporting savings include Lynchburg, Nelson County, Appomattox County and Bedford City.
