Local Man Will Stand Trial For Child Rape Charge

South Boston Police say a 30-year-old man faces a charge of forcible rape allegedly involving a victim younger than 13. Officers arrested John David Buckner, Tuesday on a warrant alleging that between Jan. 1 and May 6, Buckner committed forcible rape with the child victim. Buckner was taken before a magistrate for his bond hearing and was held without bond. The investigation is ongoing and authorities say additional charges are expected in the case.
