Man Enters Alford Plea In Drugstore Robbery

A Rustburg man accused of robbing a Campbell County drugstore in May has entered an Alford plea, acknowledging there’s enough evidence to find him guilty. Prosecutors say 49-year-old Sherman Dalton entered the CVS pharmacy on Timberlake Road with a knife, and demanded oxycontin, then held a knife to the manager’s neck and later threw the knife at two other employees. Dalton will be sentenced in March.
