Man Won’t Go To Prison For Campbell County Burglaries

The Altavista man that confessed this summer to two counts of burglary and two counts of grand larceny won’t spend any time in prison. A Campbell County Circuit Court Judge last week sentenced 23 year old Michael Aaron Brooks to eight years in prison but suspended all of the time. Brooks pleaded guilty on Aug. 29, to the 2010 break-ins of Highview Motors where he assisted in stealing a number of items and Grace Baptist Church where a lawn tractor was stolen. One co-defendant has been acquitted in the case and another has not been tried yet.
