One Person Dies From Christmas Day Crash

One man has died following a 3 vehicle accident in Lynchburg on Christmas day. Investigators say 89-year-old Walter Smith of Lynchburg was headed the wrong way on Wards Road just before 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon when he crashed into two cars. According to WDBJ-7, Bonnie and Tommy Hardy of Gretna were in one of the other cars; both were transported to the hospital. A couple in the third car was not hospitalized. Smith died at Lynchburg General Hospital Tuesday night.
